Soft2Bet has released MEGA Shoot, a new football-focused gamification engine created for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, designed to help sportsbook operators keep players active across the duration of the tournament. The feature will be rolled out across selected Soft2Bet brands including Betinia, Swiper, Campobet, ToonieBet and Elabet, covering markets such as Denmark, Greece, Mexico, New Jersey, Ontario, Romania, and the wider Canadian market.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be the largest edition in history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches across the United States, Mexico and Canada. Industry forecasts suggest US betting turnover on the tournament could exceed that of the Super Bowl, offering operators an extended period of football-driven wagering activity.
MEGA Shoot centres on a best-of-five penalty shootout format. Players alternate between striker and goalkeeper roles, taking turns to score penalties and make saves. The striker selects their shot placement, while the goalkeeper chooses where to dive, with each round displayed as either a goal or a save before roles are swapped.
Early internal data indicates 31.9% game engagement among active players across selected brands, while 71.2% of MEGA Shoot users went on to play a second match.
Yoel Zuckerberg, Chief Product Officer at Soft2Bet, said:
βThe World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July, so retention has to work across the full tournament calendar. MEGA Shoot gives operators a football game that players can understand quickly, with head-to-head competition tied to the sport they already follow. With almost 32% engagement among active players and about 71% converting into a second match, the early data shows how tournament-led gamification can strengthen sportsbook engagement during major football events.β
