NFL Suspends Four Players for Violating Gambling Policies
Nicholas Petit-Frere of the Tennessee Titans will not be allowed to play in the team's first six regular-season games in 2023 as a result of his participation in club-based wagering on non-NFL sports.
Rodgers, Berry, and Taylor are eligible to apply for readmission following the 2023 campaign. Rodgers and Berry were let go by the Colts when it was made known that they had been suspended indefinitely.
Following the release of Rodgers and Berry, Chris Ballard, Colts General Manager said in a statement:
"We have made the following roster moves as a consequence of the determination that these players violated the league's gambling policy.
"As an organisation we will continue to educate our players, coaches, and staff on the policies in place and the significant consequences that may occur with violations."
On 5 June, Rodgers released a statement in which he claimed to take "full responsibility" for his actions.
The Titans have released a statement commenting the following:
"We have been made aware of Nick's suspension by the league.
"We believe in Nick and know that he has a deep respect for the integrity of the game and our organisation. We will continue to emphasise to our players the importance of understanding and adhering to league rules and policies."
In the meanwhile, the NFL placed receivers Jameson Williams, Quintez Cephus, Stanley Berryhill, safety C.J. Moore, and defensive end Shaka Toney of the Washington Commanders on administrative leave for breaching the league's gambling policy on April 21.
