Curacao Launches Licence Application Portal
Operators may obtain licence application forms from 1st September through the GCB's new website, which also offers details on the licencing procedure.
There are other downloads and instruction notes available. Completed applications will start to be sent in November of this year.
As Curaçao gets ready for the National Ordinance for Games of Chance (LOK), the gateway is launching. This regulation would alter the licencing process for international online gaming companies in Curaçao.
The National Ordinance on Offshore Games of Hazard, Curaçao's current law, is not changed by the new licencing procedure; instead, it is expanded. Both new operators and owners of active sub-licences may apply using the application site.
The latter, however, may carry on operating normally under their present arrangements. Operators that are approved for a licence after November will receive a provisional permit from the authority.
Operators that have already been granted a licence will not need to apply again. The new regime will take up their role. The present law requires gambling operators to apply to one of the four current master licensees in order to get a sub-license.
Sub-licensees will have 90 days following the LOK's introduction to reapply for a direct operator licence.
