Esportes Gaming Brasil has strengthened its position as a leading example of governance within Brazil’s regulated iGaming market after becoming the first company from the sector to receive recognition from the Institute of Internal Auditors of Brazil (IIA Brazil).
The company, which operates the Esportes da Sorte, Onabet and Lottu brands, received the IIA May Brazil 2026 Winning Company distinction during an awards ceremony on 23 July.
The award recognises organisations that have actively contributed to International Internal Audit Awareness Month through campaigns designed to educate employees, improve understanding and showcase the importance of Internal Audit.
For EGB, the recognition represents an important achievement as the company becomes the first iGaming business included among the organisations recognised by IIA Brazil.
In 2026, around 100 companies received recognition through the campaign, including major Brazilian organisations such as Petrobras, Banco Bradesco, Grupo Mateus and Vale.
Carol Luna, Head of Compliance at Esportes Gaming Brasil, said:
"Being the first iGaming company recognised in the IIA May Brazil campaign is a significant milestone for both our group and the wider industry. Regulation has ushered in a new era of professionalism, where growth, innovation and efficiency must go hand in hand with strong governance, integrity and the ability to anticipate risk."
Strengthening Awareness Across the Business
To participate in the IIA May Brazil campaign, companies were required to create original awareness content and deliver initiatives that demonstrated the practical value of Internal Audit.
EGB launched a range of activities throughout May, including educational videos, awareness campaigns and content focused on explaining the role of its Internal Audit function.
The company also hosted the Audit EGB Webinar, which brought together employees from across the organisation to discuss how Internal Audit contributes to stronger decision-making and improved operational performance.
A dedicated training session was also organised for professionals working within the second and third lines of defence, bringing together representatives from Internal Audit, Quality, Compliance and Monitoring.
IIA Brazil assessed submissions based on multiple criteria, including creativity, originality, audience reach, engagement and the quality of the initiatives delivered.
Luna added:
"Our goal was to bring Internal Audit closer to our people and demonstrate that the function is not isolated or focused solely on identifying non-compliance. It is a strategic partner that transforms information into meaningful insights, drives continuous improvement and helps the business build more efficient processes and stronger controls."
