Shreveport LA - Employee Arrested for Trying to Defraud Casino
An employee of Sam's Town Hotel and Casino in Shreveport, Frank Leeper, was recently caught defrauding the casino by creating fraudulent credit payouts
The Louisiana State Police gaming enforcement division was notified of the issue by the casino on January 11, and upon investigation, it was found that Leeper, who was the director of slots at the casino at the time, had stolen more than $3,000 on at least three separate occasions.
After obtaining an arrest warrant, Leeper was questioned by investigators upon his arrival at work and eventually confessed to the theft. He was charged with felony theft and taken into custody at the Caddo Correctional Center.
It's commendable that the casino fully cooperated with the investigation and no patrons were defrauded as a result of Leeper's actions. However, the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
This incident highlights the importance of companies having proper security measures and protocols in place to prevent and detect fraudulent activities. It's crucial for businesses to be vigilant and proactive in identifying potential risks and addressing them promptly to protect themselves and their customers.
