Betsson Named Official Sponsor of Women’s Handball World Championship
The Women's World Championship of the International Handball Federation (IHF) in 2023 will be sponsored by Betsson. As an official sponsor, Betsson's logo will be shown on LED displays located all throughout the venues where games will be played.
The event will be hosted by Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and will take place from November 29th - December 17th.
“We are happy to welcome Betsson to the 26th IHF Women’s World Championship,” IHF president Hassan Moustafa said.
“We have partnered up with online gaming company Betsson. Together, we set a clear aim – to excite!”
Betsson PR manager Robin Olenius added:
“This sponsorship aligns with our commitment to promote and supporte women’s sports. We hope that through our support of the tournament and our global presence, we will help to increase the excitement globally.”
The competition will include 32 national teams altogether. The most recent title was won by Norway in 2021, who defeated France 29–22 in the finals game. The owner has a history of supporting female athletes.
The Copa América Femenina 2022, the women's version of the CONMEBOL Copa América football event, was exclusively sponsored by Betsson last year.
Athletico Paranaense and Club Atletico Boca Juniors' women's football teams are likewise primarily sponsored by Betsson.
