Drake Loses $250,000 Bet on Paul v Diaz
Drake, the top-charting rapper, lost his sizable $250,000 wager on Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz after the YouTuber defeated the UFC icon Friday night in Dallas, Texas.
The Hotline Bling singer has previously praised the Paul brothers, but he admitted to followers on social media that he couldn't help but blame UFC great Diaz for the eye-watering figure. Through his association with online bookmaker Stake, he has previously staked enormous sums on many UFC and boxing matches, almost always losing enormous sums.
He had previously wagered $400,000 on Paul to overcome Love Island's Tommy Fury, a professional boxer, but that wager cost him dearly when Paul suffered his first loss. Prior to then, he had already lost several six-figure wagers on Justin Gaethje's defeat to Charles Oliveira for the world championship and Jorge Masvidal's victory against Colby Covington.
Posting on social media, Drake shared a snap of his boxing bet, writing the caption
“Jake is a dog but I can never bet against a Diaz brother. That’s just how I was raised."
Paul replied, writing:
"Drake losing his bet, should have played Betr Picks."
Paul was accurate, and after stopping Diaz in the fifth round, he won by unanimous decision.
