Belatra’s latest release continues its character-led series with a stadium backdrop, cascading wins and a four-zone penalty challenge.
The Guy is heading onto the pitch in Penalty Blast, the latest online slot from Belatra Games.
Having previously appeared in the fishing-themed Blast the Bass and Ice Bass, before taking on the wilderness in Hunt the Bucks, the character now finds himself beneath stadium floodlights with the crowd providing the backdrop.
Penalty Blast uses a cascading cluster format, awarding wins for groups of five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Each successful cluster clears every symbol of that type from the grid, allowing fresh symbols to fall into place and potentially produce another win.
A separate collection mechanic centres on the Goalkeeper and Ball symbols. Balls hold multipliers from x1 to x1000, which are collected when the Goalkeeper appears beside them. Their total is multiplied by the bet to determine the payout.
The football theme extends to three coloured whistles. Green launches Balls across the reels and can either lock positions or trigger an instant Goalkeeper collection. Red removes the grid’s low-paying symbols. Gold opens the Penalty Bonus, where players select a target within the goal.
That bonus offers four coloured zones with different payouts and risk levels: grey at x20, light blue at x50, orange at x100 and pink at x250. Players can take control of the target selection or leave the decision to the game.
Ten Free Games are awarded for four Scatters. Five Scatters add an x2 Booster, while six activate Hot Mode with both x2 and x3 Boosters. As Goalkeepers land, they fill positions on the feature panel above the reels, unlocking further Boosters and rounds. The active Booster applies to each Goalkeeper collection.
The Buy Bonus options cover standard Free Games, Hot Mode with two Boosters and a standalone Penalty Bonus. Both Free Games options offer potential wins of up to 10,000x, with the shootout capped at 250x.
An optional Bet +100% setting doubles the stake and increases the trigger frequency of Free Games and Hot Mode by four times. The game advertises a top win of $250,000.
Misha Voinich, Head of Business Development at Belatra, said:
“Players have really connected with The Guy, and the first three titles in the series continue to deliver fantastic results across multiple markets. Continuing his story was a natural step, and this time our adventurous character is stepping into the sporting arena. Players will love seeing a familiar face in an entirely new setting, backed by fresh cluster mechanics, big multipliers and an interactive penalty shootout that puts the outcome directly in their hands.”
