The first UK casino for the Gauselmann-owned Merkur Casino will open in Aberdeen.

There will be two blackjack tables and four roulette tables at Merkur Casino Aberdeen. Two electronic roulette devices and 20 other gambling machines are also set to be located at the venue.

Along with numerous other senior business professionals, the facility was formally launched by the chief executive, Irinia Ruf. Merkur welcomed local officials, business executives, and representatives from the gaming sector to the grand inauguration.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a Scottish rock band, and Chris Ashton did live performances at the event.

“We are delighted to have made history by opening the first Merkur Casino in the UK,” said Ruf.

“When the opportunity arose to purchase a licence in Aberdeen it was a natural progression to move into the sector and launch our first UK casino" he continued.
