Two Online Casino Licences Issued in Kyrgystan
Kyrgystan, a Central Asian country bordered by China on the east and Kazakhstan on the north, has been attempting for some time to legalise casinos and iGaming.
Palmium and Internet Technologies Venice have now received formal online casino licenses.
According to the statement, Deputy Minister of Digital Development Zamirbek Kozhomuratov announced the move in Parliament, although the casinos that now have a permit to operate "are not working yet."
Further statements have been made regarding unlicensed internet casinos operating in the region. Online casinos that operate within Kyrgyzstan without a licence will be terminated if the Kyrgyz Parliament makes adequate changes to national gambling regulations.
Deputy Marlen Mamataliev said:
“All gaming areas must be located near the casino. But there are underground gambling establishments. If citizens witness such things, where should they turn?”
A bid to establish a state lottery in Kyrgyzstan was won in 2022, with Elbet d.o.o. and Axel Capital gaining the ability to begin creating the lottery. The decision was affirmed by the Centre for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) despite both firms having over 20 years of expertise in their respective sectors, the gaming industry software provider and equities hedge fund firm.
The Kyrgyzstan State Lottery's official debut date is presently unclear.
Palmium specialised in fun and entertainment, whilst Internet Technologies Venice focuses on online casinos. Imankulova Veronika Konstantinovna and Aiperi Tszeyevna Kalybekova are the company's directors.
