CFL Appoints FanDuel as Official Sportsbook Partner
The Canadian Football League (CFL) has decided to work with its newest official sportsbook partner to utilise its data and unique position in the sports industry.
After signing a similar agreement with BetRegal in 2021, FanDuel will be known as the CFL's newest sportsbook partner going forward. The BetRegal partnership was largely successful, but because the operator has yet to obtain a licence in Ontario, the CFL has chosen to hunt for a more reputable operator, which is how FanDuel comes in.
First CFL-authorized gaming partner
Players who are 19 years old or older may place any number of wagers on the CFL using FanDuel's shopping windows. Several other wagers are available on the game at FanDuel, including money lines, totals, spreads, props, and more, allowing for an interesting array of possibilities.
FanDuel has really become the league's "first authorities gaming operator," as the CFL confirmed in a formal statement.
Because of the existing relationship, FanDuel has with TSN, the league's official broadcaster, the two organisations also make excellent business partners. This relationship generates special synergies and chances to use data and fan experiences to boost economic momentum. General Manager of FanDuel Canada, Dale Hooper, commented on this new chance as follows:
"We look forward to working with the CFL and TSN to continue to drive interest in this great league and the next generation of stars by contributing insights that add another element to the great storytelling that is taking place."
Along with such synergies, the partners will seek to make sure that sports bettors behave responsibly and sustainably. According to FanDuel's Hooper, responsible gaming is the highest focus.
Gambling that is ethical and sustainable
This top-tier football league has been one of the most passionate supporters for the idea of legalising sports betting, thus, the relationship with the CFL should not be surprising either. The CFL repeatedly emphasised the advantages of regulating the sector while the matter was still debated.
The CFL linked up with Genius Sports earlier this year to improve the sport's integrity since the organisation is fully aware of the dangers that widespread legalised sports betting could bring. Tyler Mazereeuw, CCO of the CFL, expressed a similar sense of excitement about the possibility of guaranteeing that fans have access to some of the best betting experiences that are carried out in a safer and more responsible manner.
